Charmaine has extensive experience in the development of
small molecule NCEs that cover a range of therapeutic
areas. She has, within the contract research and
development arena, worked on behalf of start-up and
major pharmaceutical companies to enable a number of
products to enter clinical trials as parenterals,
topicals and solid oral dosage forms. Charmaine has held
Director level positions responsible for preclinical and
pharmaceutical development within OSI
Pharmaceuticals and was instrumental in introducing high
throughput screening methods to assist in lead candidate
selection of therapeutics and cosmeceuticals.
From 2002
she focussed on establishing the supply chain for OSI’s
“flagship” product, Tarceva, to support Phase III
clinical development and commercial launch in the US
taking responsibility for global outsourcing of all drug
substance and drug product manufacturing.
Charmaine led all Tarceva CMC-related activities in the
US including provision of the CMC module of the NDA that
gained US approval. Building on this multi-disciplinary
experience Charmaine has now co-founded PharMomentum Ltd
as a “hands on”, problem solving consultancy group.
